What this website stores
If you save a vocabulary word, your browser stores that choice on this device. It is not sent to an EBC account or synced across devices. You can remove saved words with the same button, or clear this site’s storage in your browser settings.
Watching videos
YouTube videos load only after you press play. At that point your browser connects to YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player, and Google’s privacy policy applies. Opening a YouTube link also takes you to their service.
Your optional club account
If you choose to join the club, we store the email address and optional name you provide, your membership status, and your newsletter preferences in our membership service. Signing in uses an email link or a one-time code; you do not create a member password. The club uses a necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. Saved vocabulary remains on this device and is not linked to your account.
Newsletter preferences
Joining the free club subscribes you to the EBC newsletter for study-pack updates and English-learning ideas. The signup screen explains this before you join. Our first newsletter is being prepared. You can turn newsletter emails off in your account, or use the unsubscribe link in a newsletter. Account sign-in messages are separate from newsletter emails.
Managing your information
Use your account to update your details and email preferences. For help with your account or a request to remove it, use the support contact shown there.
Downloads and visits
PDFs, fonts and lesson images are served directly from this site. Our learning pages do not include advertising trackers or analytics scripts. The membership area uses Ghost to provide account and newsletter settings; it may load service scripts needed for those features. The hosting service may process technical connection information, including your IP address, to deliver and secure the site.
Payments
The club currently offers free membership. No paid plan is available at signup, and no card is required.
Your learning stays simple
No microphone recording or AI requests are made by this website. Speaking prompts are for practising on your own. If you post a response on YouTube, it is governed by YouTube’s settings and policies.
